When the John Ed Mathison Leadership Ministry was formed in 2008, one of my major concerns was to find ways to ensure financial accountability. In today’s culture that is not only important, but essential.
Selection of board members was very important. We have strong people who have served as leaders of large financial institutions. The following people serve on the board:
Chairman of the Board – Mr. Mike Henig, President, Henig Furs
Vice President –Mr. Mike Hutson, Retired President, Burford Equipment Company
Vice President – Dr. Gaeton Lorino, Partner, Montgomery Pulmonary Consultants
Secretary – Mr. Harold Faulkner, Retired President, Faulkner Insurance Agency
Treasurer – Ms. Lucinda Samford Cannon, President, Cannon Ventures
Director – Mr. Craig Coblentz, President, Equipment & Parts Specialty Company
Director – Dr. Stephen Davidson, Partner, Montgomery Cancer Center
Director – Mr. Wilbur Hufham, Retired President, Regions Bank
Director – Mr. Ken Love, Certified Public Accountant, Chair of Audit Committee – Federal Land Bank, South Alabama Chief Financial Officer, SES, LLC
Please go to www.johnedmathison.org website and look at the biographical sketches of each of these board members. You will see people who have great expertise in financial accountability.
Beyond this we wanted to go a step further. Our board voted to request membership in the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). It took over a year to fulfill all the requirements. We just received word that we have been accepted. Let me share with you the following news release from ECFA.
