What’s Your Plan?

What's your plan in response to the invasion of Ukraine?

WHAT’S YOUR PLAN?

Russia has invaded Ukraine. How should I respond? Here is my action plan!

PRAY

I will pray. Prayer is the most powerful weapon that I have. God has always done unbelievable miracles as a result of people’s prayers. Russia’s invasion did not take God by surprise, nor does it leave Him confused about what to do. He’s got this!

I will pray bodaciously for all of us to accept God’s intervention to bring peace on earth. I claim that the sincere prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results. (James 5:16) I claim that with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26) In response to the disciple’s request to know how to pray, I claim and will pray the Lord’s Prayer. (Matthew 6:9-13) I invite you to join me and millions of people praying the Lord’s Prayer every day at noon.

PAY

I will pay. There are causes to which we can contribute where the money goes to help refugees fleeing Ukraine and other countries. There are ways to give to Christian churches and missionaries in Ukraine. I don’t like paying more for gas, but if it is part of God’s plan to bring peace in Russia and Ukraine, I will pay extra at the pump.

PROFESS

I will profess boldly that Jesus Christ is Lord and is the only hope for our world. We know we need Jesus as our Savior–we need to know that we must follow Him as Lord. We must start here at home.

America is like an egg that has been placed in a cold pan of water on the stove. Somebody started the fire on the stove several years ago, and the water started slowly to heat up.

The heat intensified with the idea that God is dead. That idea has not been rejected in our culture, and it has slowly turned up the heat on the stove. Today, the result is that we have fewer people professing Christ as Lord than ever before in our nation. The water is constantly getting hotter, and the egg is growing harder. Only Jesus can cut off the heat!

PRACTICE

I will practice the plan that God has given us. He said that we must love Him with all our hearts, mind, soul, and strength, and love our neighbors as ourselves. When everybody gets on board with God’s plan, our world will wind up where it needs to be!

I am inspired by the commitment of the Ukrainian people to their country. I admire an 84-year-old man who was told he was too old to fight but took a rifle and joined the front line–-a couple who got married and the next day appeared in uniform on the front lines to defend their country–a young Christian who helped his wife and children safely flee the country and then went to help a family who was going to a train station to escape, and a Russian rocket killed the young Christian, the parents, and the children.

These stories are heartbreaking and inspiring. What if we Christians were as committed to the cause of Christ as these great Ukrainian people are committed to their country?

Panic prevails when no plan is in place. What’s your plan?
